Re-dye them briefly in black. Should darken it up perfectly. I dyed my FDE SOPMOD green and it looked a little obnoxious so I darkened it up with black and now it's perfect. View Quote I was shooting for a brighter red |

I wonder... Would it be possible to coat parts of the plastic with something, dye the rest, and make a camo pattern? View Quote yes, i used to take white lacross stick heads and dye all kinds of crazy colors on them, i think i used duct tape to mask things off but i cannot remember if it was that or a painters type paint |

I like it.
How long did you keep the Components in the Pot before removing them? Once removed from Pot what was the next processes, to end up with what you have? |
|
First i almost boiled then got a pan 5 inches deep poured water in that, then put oven for 175 degrees put parts in for about 5 mins each pulled out rinse in cold water

RIT dye only produces the actual dye color if you start with plastic that is white in color. Anything else will result in some weird color. The exception is black. You can make any color base plastic black in color with enough time in hot water.
