Why do fond memories of ‘duck and cover’ drills, G.I. Joe guys, Testors military model kits, Entertech water guns (I used to paint mine) and Wolverines come to mind?

All I know is this paint job is very nostalgic to me…

and knowing is half the battle…

All paint is Rust-Oleum camo except for krylon fusion matte black. (Still too glossy but it's what I had)

Base coat khaki

Using mesh material acquired from hobby lobby, spray stripes of army green and deep forest green

Tear strips of painters tape to mask off where and how I want the stripes. (Didn't want the super straight lines from the edge of the tape.)

Coat entire gun with earth brown

Using a one inch paint brush and black paint  sprayed real thick into a paper plate, brush over the taped areas making a rough outline of the tape.

After drying over night I used a scotch brite pad to blend the paint a little and dull the black a bit.

There are some stencils you can find online like the pattern above, search for Riptile camo. Freedom Stencils is one place, they also have some youtu e videos showing how to do thwir patterns, but they use air brushes for their painting.

Noveske Pig? I have one on my AR .22 for shits and grins. What RDS is that?

Good work on the paint. Now hit the rail a little to blend it with the rest.

@lew

It’s PSA’s version of a Noveske. I think it was made by KAK?

RDS is a Primary Arms MD-ADS. Had it for years. Best budget optic I have ever bought.

You want me to rattle can over that pretty BCM rail? I like the ugly pistol.

Dug through all my spare parts and found i could almost make a complete gun. Picked up a cheap rail to complete it and figured meh why not rattlecan it. Didnt really have a plan and might redo it but not bad for just a quick spray.

A couple of old sticks I painted a long time ago. Need to pick an optic for my new rifle before I attempt a more challenging stencil pattern.

I'm broke and I felt like tinkering. So I painted up this build I cobbled together mostly from the parts bin. The paint looks much lighter than it is in real life.

I used this paint stripper from oriellys put It on, And rinse with brake clean. Get about 4 cans for brake clean for a rifle. The I hit the rest with the goof off and plastic brushes. I got a finger nail brush from Walmart, helps put some good elbow grease on it.Attachment Attached File
