@DirtyHandsRob it's an IDF helmet cover (mitznefet).
Agilite sells these. They turn up everywhere...I found one at a militaria show...seller had no idea what it was. https://agilitegear.com/products/mitznefet-multicam |

Just waiting on my SBR to come back and my CMMG build will be done.
For people that run the CMMG stuff, is there any bolt spare parts I need to keep on hand? I remember reading something about common failure points on these but can't seem to recall what that was. |

Just threw my DBAL on this thing. I haven't taken it out of the safe in two years...now it needs its own laser.
Can is currently attached using the Gemtech QDA. It'd be about an inch or so shorter without that device. Attached File |

I'm working on a Ruger Mark II cut down to 4.5" with a Holosun HS507c and a Dead Air Mask. It will be my night plinker.

I'm definitely getting a thermal that I can swap around to other rifles. I'd be really happy if FLIR dropped a 640 weapons mountable breach at Shot 2020. I'm intrigued by the idea of a clip on, but the "affordable" ones are giant and clunky looking, and the reasonably sized ones are like 15k lol. View Quote |

Alright. It looks dumb, but if it works, it ain’t dumb. Thats what I tell myself anyways.
I already had all the major pieces sitting around. The upper, the Lil’P, the Aurora, the flash light, and the suppressor. Just got the mounts and put it all together. For a 22 it is surprisingly nice. Attached File |

For those running thermal and NV scopes on their 22s, do any of these units have any sort of BDC reticle? A .22 more than almost anything else seems to benefit from some sore of BDC to gauge your holds, even inside 100 yards. Pretty sure the answer is no, but figured its worth asking.
Something like the Pulsar Core RXQ30V on a Ruger Precision Rimfire could be devastatingly effective for a lot of things, but a BDC could help a lot. |
|
I haven't seen anything thermal with a dedicated 22lr BDC but one or two models of the Halo line have a laser range finder that is supposed to work great. I don't recall if it's for 22lr though

View Quote The Trail XP50 LRF / Ruger Charger combo I posted earlier does this excellently when paired with Strelok Pro (screenshot attached). The laser range finding feature of the scope gives precise measurements. The RXQ30V Core has 10 reticle options. Each reticle has a different pattern with a specific MOA values detailed in the reticle catalog. Hat tip to @UNV for hosting this information. |

Also why you seem to be whispering at the beginning? Trying not to wake the wife? Great vid and that Hogster IR Lum seems to be doing well at 940nm. Quoted: I've never been a bolt gun guy but I'm super happy with the CZ455. It's a riot to shoot and the accuracy using Gemtech subsonic ammo is excellent, it's right at 2 inches at 100 yards and stupid quiet. I mean stupid quiet. We take shots at rabbits and squirrels and they don't react to misses The PA 22 scope is going to remain the daylight optic, but rather than have a second rifle dedicated to thermal I'm going to try using the Skeet + Holosun on top to make the CZ the all around shooter. I've got a second Wilcox on backorder and am really looking forward to it showing up https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/73202/20200419_164925-1376907.jpg View Quote That is awesome. Quoted: I have been asking here on ARF and a few other places about an extended rail for my 10/22 so I can mount a clip-on in front of a LPVO . Once member responded with what he put together using a bunch of risers and a Pulsar mount, but it was way to busy for me. Others have suggested a Leapers Tactical Scout Slim Rail but some others have said it is flimsy. So I am not sure it would support the 1.7lb weight of a clip-on without bending a bit. https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/81561/Leapers_jpg-1223915.JPG I inquired with MDT to see if their Remington 700 extended rail could be adapted to a Ruger 10/22 and they said no. For years I have been using a monoloc with an old Leupold 2-7 compact. The glass is not great so anything beyond 4x the center of the image gets bad. Currently I am investigating if a NV rail can be incorporated into the stock of an after market Ruger stock, but not sure if the price will be tolerable. View Quote I too have been having a hard time finding one, my 10/22 is a KIDD rifle that I put together and has a hogue stock, nothing works with that stock so I might just keep it a daytime gun and run a nighttime AR 22 upper. I just need the barrel and bolt realistically, I have all the parts to make an upper. |

I go waaaay back with AWC Systems Technology when Lynn McWilliams (RIP) who owned the company was a true revolutionary who worked very closely with NSW and so many LE groups back in the day. I still have two of their sniper guns, one of them a M92 with over 14K .308 rounds all logged. The throat has opened up a bit over the years and it does not hold that under .5moa, but hell maybe it's me it only holds 1moa as I get older! Love my integral .22lr bolt gun, but never bit on the Amphibian or other integrally suppressed pistols when I was in stamp collector mode. As far as an RDS, I'm still partial to the RMR over the ARCO, especially since this isnt a boxy Glock. Less is more, IMHO, on a pistol like this. ETA: just noticed this is built on a Ruger MK4, so the reassembly ass pain has been negated. Didn't know they were building Amphibians on MK4s. (Evil thoughts for the credit card stirring.....) |

Love the quote "stamp collecting mode", NICE! Does this mean you're back? Lol Yea, pretty impressed with their latest Amphibian II built around the MKIV. Maintenance on the supressor and gun is quite easy and the sound suppression for this up close and personal Yote head shot instrument is gonna be a hoot. Been thinking RMR as well. God knows the number of small MRDS's I have laying around... These also come in FDE and black, not to upset your CC! Edit, also gonna inquire about AWC drilling and tapping a few pic rail holes under the barrel for some laser goodies. Right now, I dont think any of the Amphibians have this...MUCH needed. |
