Has anyone used one on a scar17?  Any issues with doing so?

Got a buddy who just got one and compared to a pulsar xp50 it looks to have a better quality image.

My thing is I want a thermal clip on, and the ability to become a standalone.  The xp50 just doesn't meet these requirements for me and if the UTM is better I may try to hunt one down.

But not if my 17 is going to kill the fucking thing.

I have heard that the 17 kills optics, like a lot.
Unless you have a UTM with a warranty(not likely) I'd not put it on the 17.
Just my semi-educated opinion.
