New firmware got released today for both the Trail and Helion. The image quality on both has gone from awesome to insane. The color palettes on the Helion must have gotten some tuning, they respond much more intelligently. The detail and sharpness on the Trail is even better.

Saw the post regarding the new firmware update for the Trail/Helion. Finally got the update loaded and the image is very much improved, I agree. Thanks for the posting. I most likely would not have noticed it on my own for some time.

How would the Helion XP28 be for use in woods where most of its use is less than 100 yards? I think it has a native magnification of 1.4 and a FOV of 39x29 according to Pulsar.

If you're talking IN the woods where you'd want a pretty wide FOV I think the 28 would work well. I was using my XP38 in the woods to look for down deer a couple weeks ago (which I found!) and I definitely would not have wanted any more native magnification. If you'd be looking out over fields longer than 100 yards you might find the 28 a little lacking in detail, although you'd see a heat signature.
What's awesome is that the Helion has changeable lenses so you're not stuck with whatever you have (although, I can't imagine the other lenses would be cheap). I think it would be cool to have all three. -Stooxie |

New PULSAR Locking QD return-to-zero mounts are here and will be included "free of charge" with purchase of a compatible PULSAR Weapon Sight.
These mount's work on all PULSAR Trail, Apex, Digisight Ultra and Core Riflescopes Smaller, lighter and stronger than the mount it replaces. These mounts are fantastic! Also available for purchase separately. |

Since Tom from NightGoggles is at Shot Show I thought I would post this...A product announcement from Pulsar that a new firmware is now available.
Houston, we finally can hear you!  The V3 update for the Trail and Helion series is here!
FOR TRAIL AND HELION: 1) Sound updater for video recording. Please NOTE...YOU MUST ACTIVATE THE MICROPHONE IN THE MENU SETTINGS FOR IT TO WORK! 2) New graphics brightness adjustments allow you to change brightness of the menu and status bar icons. 3) Wi-Fi transmission they say is enhanced. FOR TRAIL ONLY: 1) The interval for recoil activated video recording has been increased to 10 seconds. 2) Two additional reticle colors: Full white reticle and full black reticle.
