Would it be possible for me to own an NFA item outside my home state?
Specifically, could I (as an IL resident, where suppressors are banned) purchase a suppressor in Indiana, which would be stored in my safe in a relative's house in Indiana?
Or is it like a handgun as far as cross state line transfers?
Thanks.

This would be a good reason for a trust. But you might not be able to be the primary and might have to be a trustee on your relative's trust. I wouldn't rely on internet advice on this one though.

That's about what I figured, but hadn't considered that use for the trust.
Thanks.
