The F4 to individual seems extremely... well, inordinately fast.
I got my Maxim 9 that I submitted in late May. I did the SilencerShop method. Might have had something to do with it. Not going to complain. |

Received four personal Post 41F Forms back. All were individual transfers.
Dead Air Mask Suppressor Form 4 from dealer Mailed: 3/1/2017 Approved: 9/29/2017 Received: 10/15/2017 228 days door to door PTR52P Short Barrel Rifle Form 1 Mailed: 5/30/2017 Approved:10/26/2017 Received: 11/2/2017 156 days door to door. Over 100 day reduction in approval/received time between the two applications which were mails 90 days apart, which seem like a good sign. I had two addition Form 4 transfers for machineguns (individual to individual) come back as well. Both applications were mailed in mid March 2017 and were approved on September 30th. Not sure what date they arrived in the mail as they went to the prior owner but I picked the guns up on 10/19/2017. Right about 218 days door to pickup. |

Got back two more trust form 1's SBRs, mailed them in at the same time came back at the same time.

10/26/16 cashed check, recd app. 11/13/17 stamp at dealer and can in hand 
It got to my dealer but I never tracked So just over 1 yr Trust |

Finally got the call today...Christmas came early
Three paper form 4s...all on trusts with two responsible parties...all-mailed together December 12, 2016. 2 suppressors 1 machine gun Not sure of pending date Stamp signed 11/24/17, arrived at dealer 12/4/17. Picked up by myself 12/5/17 I was pleasantly surprised as I expected that it might be kicked back. When we sent in the packet, we only included 2 fingerprint cards for each responsible person. Later of course I read that you need 2 fingerprint cards per person per item. Time to start buying more... |

Put in a form 4 the first week of February 2017 (Saker 7.62). Put a form 1 in for an SBR the first week of March 2017. (Don't remember the exact dates but the checks were cashed within a week in both cases).
Called the ATF for the first time today to check on the status. Form 4 was approved on December 10 and the Form 1 was approved on December 11. Just waiting for the stamps to arrive! Both items were submitted via paper with a trust. There were 2 people on the trust. |

They were told the ATF was expediting everything and all NFA items would be approved by October 1. Obviously that didn’t happen and NFA branch said they weren’t expediting anything when I asked. |

Form 1 trust, sent in 26 October 2017. Two items, one got in my hands on 9 November, the other? I have no clue because the seller is unable to return phone calls or emails, the ATF first said there was a problem with paperwork, then last call said they had to have a supervisor look at it and would call me back. Which means I’ll call them again Monday.
Moral of my story? Be careful who you buy through. My seller notified me that one stamp came through AFTER I reached out to them at the one year mark asking if they’d heard anything. I got the impression their plan was to wait for both stamps before saying a word to me. I’ll post the angry recap of the whole incident once I get my second can... |
