T/C Hawken .45. Bought last year but just shot it this spring. Didn't know how much powder to pour in the barrel or how to clean it. Had to buy several items including some not shown in my photo. Still working on accuracy with different powder loads at 50 yards. Had one dry ball already. Weather here has been very windy and just had several days of rain. I can already see buying another BP rifle.

edit -  bought a Investarms .50 Hawken July 2017. 2 is 1 per ARFCOM.

Just got another flintlock of which I am pretty proud of.
One off, unique replica of an original 1742 Light Dragoon Pistol (circa) made by the great Leonard Day.

It's the one on the top. The one on the bottom is a pretty awesome replica of George Washington's favorite pistol - a replica made in Italy in the 1970s

Great flintlocks, firing, both of them

I have refinished three out of 4 pistols here (restained). The top three. Indian ones; you can work on them as much as you want, you're still going to tell right away the cheap ass stuff from the expensive goods.

More props to the US artists that still make these!

Soon to be speaking to me, myself and I in this thread;
I just realized I do not like the finish (on the light side) on some of these. I really wanted to get a darker color.
So I researched, tried and went for Minwax. I find their stains to be something absolutely spectacular - after having tried a few.

So I went for dark walnut on this flintlock here.
So much work can be done to these in order to make them look more authentic etc. - the hobby in itself is actually not in collecting these, but in finishing them - the ones that one can't consider to be a finished product (hence, most if not all the Indian flintlocks).

I am now going to re-stain my ship's carbine as well (picture below in as is condition). Will make her way darker.

Flintlock pistol with darker stain (still unfinished, I might either go for another coat or go BLO to finish here the way she sits now)

You have fine taste: George Washington clone pistols from the 1970s - a few sets were made in Italy for the US.

My Pedersoli Brown Bess a couple years back. We all love the modern guns on here, but there's nothing like the "whoosh-bang" of a flinter to bring a smile to your face.

Plan to buy a longrifle and possibly get into building them in the future.

Really wanted to reinforce and underline the above concept; I think about it often.
When people, friends ask me 'so you like guns' I am like "...no, I like some of them'.

Only the good guns (strictly speaking, the ones that have a history, that function as they should - considered the era they were developed in etc. etc.)

Bess is Queen.

I hate to admit it, but its been far too long since I've touched off a flint gun.  Or even a percussion one.  My father had a couple Pedersoli Besses & they were great guns.

My Miroku Bess is put together just as well, but alas, still sits unfired.  I need to make time to change that.

Not yet.  Do have a poor condition MH Mk III (1881) that's missing the breech block that I've got here now that I'll do the paperwork to take home.  Someone else buying these, they were brought over for me to go over.
