Just picked up one of these . Seems like the front sight hood is either too small or front post is too tall.Not like the m48 I have.Anyone else have this problem? If so what did you do to fix it? Or, is this normal. Thanks for any help

That is just the way they are...worst Mauser sight I've seen. That said I still like shooting mine!
If its a cheapie/mismatch/shooter you could file down the post a bit
