You guys are right on.
I am in the same dilemma.
Have a cz 455
Cut and threaded 17hmr barrel (plus a nib spare 17hmr barrel varmint contour, 22lr sporter barrel NIB plus magazine and block)
KKC stock pillar bedded and epoxy bedded
enlarged badger bolt knob
DIP picatinny(sp?) scope rail
DIP trigger shoe (makes it feel better to me).
All I need is a Yo dave trigger mod + DIP sear and a Whistle pig lightweight .22lr barrel.
2 things I don't like about the CZ
1. Safety - I am used to it but it still bugs the hell out of me.
2. Smoothness of the action (compared to my Tikka t3, or my buddies Sako quad, etc...), It's about the same as my FIL's Ruger american rimfire but better than his Savage 17hmr.
The question is do I spend 240.00 and upgrade the barrel and trigger and live with it's short comings or cut my losses and buy a Tikka T1x
Maybe pick up a 2nd side hustle job to earn more money
Such a great time to be into rimfires
Would love
Lithgow LA101 in either 22lr or 17hmr
Tikka T1x in both .22lr and 17hmr
VQ summit - just to test it against the old Summit from PWS
Ruger Precision Rimfire - hope to see someone like Kidd make some barrels
Anschuts 1727F - holy hell probably the best there is IMHO for speed and precision (some might shoot better but not faster)
Voodoo (sp?) V-22 - undoubtedly the best precision trainer and it seems the accuracy is right there with Annies
Probably a few I am missing but that would be a good start
