The Ruger American stock is inexcusable. I have one in 556 and its flexible rubber band. The bolt is nice and the trigger is pretty good for a Ruger. The stock and thin barrels, though, are both inexcusable. The mags are pretty inexcusable as well.

I am considering selling it and getting a Tikka 223 but I can't quite push myself over the edge. At least the Ruger has a 556 chamber and threaded barrel.

Is this the one that uses CZ mags?

Here is our video from SHOT.  It discusses most of what's covered here, but shows the rifle more.  We handled the rifle and it feels VERY nice!  I've already filled them in on the 17WSM, so hopefully they look at that option in the future.

If there are any Beretta/SAKO/Tikka managers reading this, all y'all need to have your products ready to sell at the first of the year, or early December, with real reviews that demonstrate how the rifles shoot.  Hype ain't worth a cent.  The competitive shooting season in most of the US starts in late January or early February, and folks that want a new gun for the season need some time to sort it out first.  They might even buy another one for Fall hunting season.

Don't wait on SHOT; get your publicity machine rolling to build excitement for the new guns with teasers, then show them off.  With no bullshit targets.

I think (and I could totally be wrong) that it has more to do with the import process than anything else. Beretta seems to bring over rifles twice a year-- March/April and August/September. I don't know anything about the process, but that might align to some kind of government approval.

Anyone Pre order yet? Hows the customer service of the seller?

I put in an order with Eurooptic. $85 down, the rest when it arrives. They are super nice to work with. They will meet lower advertised pricing as well (when they can).

Just put a 20” 22LR on layaway with Whittaker today. 15% down with 90 days to pay it off. Now to figure out what to do with it WRT glass and other goodies.

I'm in the same boat. Ordered the T1X 22 on Friday and also got the form 4 rolling. I'm stuck between the Leopold VX freedom rimfire and either of the Vortex rimfire scopes. Suggestions on what height rings for a 2x7-33 so I don't see the suppressor?

New estimate is now June/July. Apparently the import paperwork is all finalized, now they just have to get here.

And the fact that Tikkas are renowned for their accuracy doesn't have anyone concerned that the T1x will be any different.

This was ent to all Whittaker's pre-order customers on 04/18->

"Whittaker Guns T1x Pre-Order Delivery Update

Good afternoon everyone!

We have just received an update on the expected delivery on the T1x’s. Unfortunately, they have been delayed “about a month.” The ATF held up the approval for the import permits for several weeks. The permits have now been issued and the inventory is inbound from Finland. It seems this was out of both Tikka and our control. I know many of you are very anxious to receive them, as we are to get them shipped out to you. Please know we will begin shipping the very day they hit our receiving dock. The new estimated ETA will be the end of May, beginning of June.  I apologize for the delay!

I will be in touch if/when there is more information to share.

Thanks,
Eric"

Still patiently waiting.
AndI think the wait will be worth it.
Edited to add the date received

Posting to give me something to do as we wait for our rifles->
The milled dovetail is 11mm, kind of odd or hard to source bases for.
Ordered and received a new/old stock set of bases from Sako/Tikka for the 11mm dovetail.  Already had the extra-low rings to fit the bases.
Buy once-cry once I guess.

Just need the rifle...

I was getting ready to buy a Savage B17 FV-SR in June, hopefully this will be an option by then! I'd really prefer the 16in barrel but I can live with the extra 4in.

how far behind are the 16in guns over the first batch coming in?

If they are interchangeable like the CZ 455's, I'm buying a 16" 22 barrel and a 17hmr barrel.
