My brother just got a basic Ruger 10/22 and I wanted to get him a couple high cap mags for his birthday. I know nothing about the magazines so I would be greatfull if someone would recomend a high cap mag that will not jam every other round.

Thanks.

Butler creek steel lips 25 round mags are your best bet followed by hot lips (the plastic has been known to crack after excessive use).

Steer away from ramline+eagle.

They tend to be a hit or miss. The MGW 50 round teardrop mags are a pita to load and are unreliable.

The mag loader is one of the best inventions since sliced bread.

I'd rather slice bread than load mags, so it may actually be better!

I need some range time!!!!!!!!!! F Work!!!!!!!!

My experience:
Butler Creek Hot Lips-4 mags-flawless
Ramline-3 mags-hit/miss(mostly miss)
Eagle-2 mags-catastrophic jamming

I've had bad lunk with Ram-Line.  Butler Creek mags work well though.

Tactical Innovations!
It's only 25 rounds, and it is expensive ($54) but works flawlessly!

I have had good luck with the eagle 30 rd. mags.  I have 13 of them and they all work great.  However, they, along with my other aftermarket mags, will only work with certain ammo.  They do not like to feed remington golden bullets or winchester.  They work flawlessly with federal ammo though.  For less than $10 ea. I thought they were worth it.
