ETA: i see they list it on their website, $250 off to buy the .22, $415 if you get a center fire as well.

@DV8EDD

I have seen the FTE issues mentioned around the web. All I can give you is my experience. In the little I shot it, I could see how some may complain, especially at first. I found that if I was forceful with the bolt, it ejected just fine. If I babied it, it seemed to hang up. Mine also has the jiggly bolt handle. That may throw some off as well about being rough with it. Dunno for sure. It did smooth out after the first few mags.

Overall, I am pretty happy with my purchase though as it shot really well with the SK Long Range Match and decent enough for rabbit purposes with mini mags. With a mask on the front end and a 1-4 on top, it makes one hell of a 100 yard and in small game rig I think. Didn’t really need another 22, but glad I grabbed it. Especially for the price given the rebate.

I went into the local toy store today and walked out with these:

Attachment Attached File

A stainless Taurus 62 in .22 lr and a S&W 10-5 in .38 SPL (made in 1977).

I paid $500 for the Taurus, which isn't too bad, I suppose, considering they seem to be listed at $600 without the tang sight and the sight is listed for another $100, by itself, on Gunbroker.

Just an updated image of a 99% completed project (just needs scope covers):

My CZ 452 FS, with a Montana Slings setup, Warne 30mm high rings, and a Trijicon Credo HX 1-4x24 green illuminated duplex optic.  A little overkill for a .22, but matches my CZ527, and is close enough to my Sako 85. (All Mannlicher stocks).

I should've nabbed one of those tauruses when they were making them, they seemed neat.

Started out as a basic 10/22, bought specifically for Appleseed.  I earned a couple of Rifleman patches, and decided to see how accurate I could make it.  It can almost keep up with my B14R now.

Attachment Attached File

Before the Timney CE trigger install

Attachment Attached File

KRG Bravo stock
KSA barrel
Timney Calvin Elite trigger
USO 3-12 scope
cheap bipod, cheap linear muzzle brake (placeholder until the can is out of jail)

ETA on 10/7/2022

More proof that a 10/22 build is never 'done'.  I recently added a VQ carbon fiber barrel.  The rifle was really accurate, but it weighed a ton.  Now it's accurate AND light.

nice ,

did the " Sixer " barrel need to modded/sanded to slip in to 11-22 receiver ?

11/22 receiver question , how solid does the top slide plate feel with the spring/detent pin holding it in place ?

looking at both " sort of " your options , except I want " the niner " barrel. I already have the deep six chassis , Volq bolt & Bx trigger.

Picked this up for $299 at my lgs on clearance.  Added a few parts and a dot I already had and it’s a sweet little shooter!

No modding, I was setup and ready to do some sanding / fitting, but the barrel went in nice and snug I didn't have to muscle it in.

11/22 receiver question , how solid does the top slide plate feel with the spring/detent pin holding it in place ?

Very solid, I had to use a punch to get the pin part of the way out the first couple times. Put some oil on it and worked it back and forth until it comes out without a punch. Without the pin in place you can tilt the receiver back and the cover will slide off. With the pin in place it's solid, no rattle. My FFL is a machinist and he was impressed with the tolerances.

I was also going to go with the deep six and a niner but changed my mind at the last minute. Post some pics when you get it finished.

Slate black industries.  I like them a lot but they are kind of overpriced for what you get.  Great covers though.  Very low profile. I put them on a few different rifles.

I searched every shop within a 50 mile radius for a compact version for like 6 months and eventually just forgot about it. The day my Mask cleared I went to go pick it up from my dealer and my wife spotted it on their shelf, not knowing what it was, she just saw it and had wanted a 22 bolt gun. Dealer says yeah it came in today, I said well take it down, it’s coming with us . To this day I haven’t been more pleased with a firearm purchase. All I can say is the Ruger American Rimfire compact and the Dead Air Mask are a match made in heaven.

GF inherited these from her father.  We took her mother and her kids out shooting at my place and they all had a great time.

Marlin 60SS
Marlin 783 22WMR
Remington Speedmaster 241
(Not a 22)
Henry Repeater 22

The 783 was a hoot. I’ve already ordered a Leupold VX Freedom and rifleman rings.  The tube feed feels like endless ammo.  Now I’m looking at CZ 457 and 512 in 22 wmr

Funny because I have suppressors, but am waiting on my Mask to clear. I'm sure it's a good combo, but I have to wait to find that one out.

I'm thinking of a few mods I want to do specifically to this compact. The other 2 are stainless and scoped. I wanted another with just irons or a dot.
