If it were me, I'd get a Tactical Tailor or other brand pouch for that tourniquet. Keep it out of the elements, and keep some dirt off.

Place holder for my JPC and stuff when it gets here next week.

What shoulder pads is everyone using nowadays?

I have a set of PIG mk1's I had been using just wondering it there is a new hotness out now.

Not new, but I usually put these on whatever I buy. The DAEDON ASS by Esstac didn't need them, which was a first fer me.

It might have been asked before, so I apologize. But, this thread is a bit big to dig through.

As far as typical wear, not combat zone, do you guys always wear "war belts" with a plate carrier? Is the idea to grab both, or just one, depending on the situation?

I'm LSHD.

Note: Not a war belt user.

It depends. Some people just use them to move weight off their torso and onto their hips, some to carry "first line" gear such as a handgun and handgun magazines, and some may still use them for other reasons. I personally don't use or even own a war belt, not really my thing but all my LBE gear is separate from my PC which is slick. And of course some do not use a war belt at all, me being one of those people.

Don't know if you've seen it, but here's the War Belt pic thread. Look through there and you'll get a good idea of what people use them for and when.

I use the war belt to supplement my rifle loadout on my PC primarily.

I avoided getting one for the longest time as I'm a civi and didn't see the need to carry more than a couple rifle mags. I took a small unit tactics class last year that required more than the 3+1 mags I carried on my rifle/PC so I added 1 rifle mag to my PC and decided to build a war belt to supplement that.

I wear my belt a bunch by itself when i go to the property. Don't need a PC but nice being able to carry stuff in and out of the truck with a rifle.

the tubes are cool but you have a set width. so you have to change the whole setup if you put a jacket on and stuff. never seemed to fit as "right" as the velcro stuff

I have a PIG with the FS retrofit cummerbund. I've enjoyed the PIG and deployed with it twice, but I think it's getting long in the tooth. The FS c-bund on the other hand is still one of my favorite things in the world when it comes to body armor, along with the AVS harness. The tubes make life super easy and it's just a comfortable setup. Buy FS with confidence.

Hey guys

Im looking to replace my Mayflower APC, the more I'm running with it/taking classes with it the more I'm not liking it.
The PC itself is comfortable but the Shoulder pads dig into my neck.
I have good pads on the straps but there just too close together.

What PC would you recommend for someone who has broad shoulders?
I wear a L/XL with M cummerbund

I know what you mean and it's one of the reasons I moved away from my APC as well.

I have a Crye JPC 2.0, and it has considerably more gap between the shoulder straps.  The old version 1 would be the same for a bit less money if you don't need the 2.0 features.

I have a newer APC, without the wide, padded shoulder strap covers they used to have.  It just had slim slip-over sleeve covers.  Comparing the bare width of the shoulder straps on the two, I'd say they're pretty close, but the JPC is a bit narrower.  If you needed, you could always add additional shoulder pad/covers on the JPC.

However, the space in between for your head and neck is much wider on the JPC.

Pic for comparison:

It's rock solid. I've been rocking this one for about a year and I won't ever use anything else. I'm about to place an order for another one.

I came from the JPC and Mayflower, which are both good, but the Esstac is about comfort and simplicity for me.

I've got pretty wide shoulders and kai does too, so I'd say it's great, but I'm not sure how to measure it. The esstac ass light shoulders aren't adjustable, but I've never had an issue.

The cummerbund on the JPC has a ton of adjustment so that wouldn't be an issue. Just find what size plate you want to run with and get that size.
Unfortunately both places are out of stock for Multicam

Coyote in stock here

Maybe call Crye up and see if they have them back in stock. Their website doesn't show real time inventory.

JPC sizing is based on plate size, and they are designed to exactly fit SAPI shaped plates.  If you have non-SAPI shaped plates, they may not fit or need extra material to shim the gaps.  I have Highcom "shooter's cut" "10x12" plates, which fit in the Medium JPC with about 1 inch of foam padding on the bottom to fill the gap.  As mentioned above, there is really only one cummerbund size and it should be a non-issue for you if you used the Med Mayflower one.

As for where to get it, pretty much all retailers are the same on price, but stock of them does come in waves from Crye, and when they do they usually sell fast.  Crye just sent a batch out to distributors about 2 weeks ago so right now you might be able to find one left over somewhere.  if not, expect to order and wait for the next batch or pay over retail on the secondary market.

Well I run AR500 lvl3+ right now but I'm looking for a better plate...

I have no idea what to get for a new set of plates.

I want lightweight, lvl 3+ or higher, around $150 - $300

Any recommendations??

Lightweight and $300 usually doesn't go together. Up your budget a bit if you can.

These are $580 each at 6lb but they also offer 20% off.
