@Evile what do you think of those mag pouches? Been looking at buying some (probably gonna wait for a sale).  Not sure if I'll replace my AR pouches, but pistol more than likely.

Nice setup! I have a bunch of Gcode holsters, I've been trying to figure a way to get a leg strap added on. I have the optimal drop mount on my belt right now, but want to secure it a little more. So you get the RTI adapter and just mount it to a safariland mid ride, and the leg strap fits right through? I think I may try this set up, it would certainly be cheaper than getting the safariland QLS system and replacing all my holsters.

Get a stiffer belt that is 2" wide and a safariland holster.

I LOVE my optimal drop platform.  The material is THICK and very supportive.

I could be biased, I hate hate hate hate things strapped to my legs as it really screws up my gait while running.

If you get a safariland holster with the screwholes up higher on the holster, it rides lower (which is nice) but having the gun separate from my leg is much better when running/moving/walking.

Kind of a mix of things but it's a TYR Tactical outer belt, HSGI bleeder, ESSTAC magazine pouches, TYR light pouch, TREX dump pouch, Safariland, and THRYM battery vault.

Really happy with it all

The sheath locks up pretty darned tight on mine, but I imagine that the Quality Control isn't great on such a cheap item, so it's probably a crap shoot. I finally set mine up on my belt and it's on there pretty solid.

FWIW, I really like the knife for the price. I'll probably end up buying a couple more.

HSGI Taco
HSGI Bleeder with TQ attached
TT Canteen/Utility pouch for water, extra mags, snacks, etc.
Becker BK10 knife

How much do you want to spend and what are you going to use it for? Living in AK I'll assume you wear a heavy coat part of the year. Do you want to be able to wear the belt over layers?

After id been using a hsgi suregrip with cobra belt I picked up a USMC surplus war belt for $10 for a hunting belt and was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it.

I haven't yet, and it is a slight concern. I've had it for years, and don't want to spend the money to replace something that's perfectly good, if I can help it.

I have considered possibly placing in in front of the holster.

I have the full size SO Tech Viper on the back of mine.  Posted it a page back.  It's fine sitting down or even driving.  Feels like a lumbar support pad.  Sucks laying down flat on your back though.

The full size Viper takes up a lot of real estate but I feel like it lets you spread everything out a bit more to keep it flatter.

Liking your belt as much as me?

I've got to take a new pic of mine. Added pouch for multitool, flashlight, and put a knife on there. I'll snap a pic later.

I'm sort of thinking about adding a 1x1 Esstac KYWI mag pouch to the right, in front of the pistol. There is a lot of real estate there.

If it were me. I would ditch one rifle mag pouch, the knife, the pouch next to the pistol mag and the one next to the IFAK.

Too much you don’t need.

Well, the KWYI is a 2x2, so can't split that. But, the others could be dropped. I'm trying to decide how much a first line belt needs, yet remains practical. I guess when my rifle and pistol have lights, I may not need a hand held on the belt. And the multi tool could go elsewhere.

I'd get rid of a pistol pouch before I got rid of a rifle pouch, afterall in theory your rifle is your main weapon.  But yes, you don't want to be carrying too much stuff like a huge fixed blade lol

A question for all of you putting TQ pouches on the back of the belt and or biased to one side- Can you access the TQ with either hand? It should be   If you wear a vest or chest rig, can you access with that on as well? It may be a backup TQ, but you should be able to access with either hand .

Or someone else will use my IFAK on me..

Just a little constructive criticism: what is the large pouch in the center of your back for? Seems like a hard spot to retrieve anything you need quickly. If it's not needed quickly do you think you could place those items in a backpack or go-bag? Has the potential to be extremely uncomfortable if you needed to sit/drive for any period of time.

Edit: I forgot to add that you may want to consider turning your Glock mags the other direction for quicker reloads.

Oof, I do index bullets forward but I shoved the mags in for the pic and didn't pay attention.

The large pouch is what I've been using for an IFAK. It's actually easy to get to with either hand, and because it's so wide and tall, it's pretty thin which makes it surprisingly comfortable to sit on. I may end up changing it out for a proper IFAK pouch but it's working okay for now.

Fixed blade on your belt. How many really use it? Is it for a defensive role? As in you lose your rifle..You lose your handgun..Now you go to your knife? Or is it more of handy access to a camp tool? I'm thinking of adding a small fixed blade as a camp tool.
