Hey all, I'm kinda new to the board (been lurking awhile though) and i'm about to start getting some gear together..... most of which has been compiled based on your guys' own expertise...thank you hat
What pouch do some of you prefer, and what are some of the items you stock em with?

Thanks for taking the time.

John's IFAK pouch is, in my Humble opinion one of the best out there. Has an outer pouch with a large easy to grab strap for your Battle dressings and in the clam shell interior, will hold anything you need to outfit your IFAK. You will not go wrong getting one and Johns gear is ..well... lets say........ Bullet proof!!!!! and he's got all the latest cool guy color/patterns...... You won't see mine up for sale..........................

Yes the VOK will fit in Johns IFAK. Its a snug fit, no problems zipping up. I just put the whole VOK in the IFAK after reading this thread

A word of advice- do not use tampons to plug bullet holes. They contain an anti-coagulent that helps to keep the blood flowing.

Good advice....use sanitary PADS instead.

Do the pads not have the anti coagulate?

No, they do not. You really do not want to insert foreign material into a wound. This makes cleaning of the wound more difficult. If and when the wound is properly sealed, foreign matter that was missed could lead to infection. Keep treatment material on top of the wound with the exception of Quik-Clot or similiar clotting agents.
