Back in the Old West, you'd have two guys on the stagecoach; the guy driving, and the guy sitting next to him, holding a shotgun.

Waverunner, you need to see a few old Roy Rogers' flicks....Oftentimes Roy would jump to the "shotgun" position from his horse...after the original "shotgun" was killed of course.....

Calling Shotgun rules,

When is time to call shotgun, my friends and I established a treaty that all parties has to be outside of the building(restaurant, shopping center, markets, etc..). then the first person calls shotgun gets the front seat.

Long trips with in between stops, do you have to call shotgun at evry stop?? or can you make the initial call and retain the front seat privilage for the durantion of the trip?

If two call shotgun at the same time, who get it??

Thanks for clarification of the rules. :)

Oh my God, I can't stop laughing, this is great. I now have something to use against my friends. I will have to e-mail my buddies to make it the law of the land. Thanks again.

Pretty complicated, but at least they make sense unlike Federal regulations.
