I have a Mossberg 590 parkerized with the bead sight. I just got a good deal on a rear ghost ring sight and a barrel with the large sight. It's in the marinecoat finish. I can have a buddy blast the finish off for refinishing. I want the gun to match as the stainless barrel looks dumb on a parked gun My question is how tough is the Brownell's Aluma-Hyde 2? Would anyone recommend it over sending the barrel out to have dunked in a real parkerizing tank? I'm mainly looking at cost. Thanks in advance.

It isn't real tough honestly. Although it's easy as hell to apply. Spray and let dry for a week, or cheat a lil and keep it in a warm room for 3 or 4 days. I would suggest ya try another finish, duracoat or telfon, or moly coat etc. Somethign a lil more durable then the Alumahyde2. HTH
