I have a chance to pick up a wood stocked 99.9% used Winchester 1300 Defender for $150.00. I know this is a good deal. What I want to know is if these are going to go up in value, anytime soon? I know Winchester is no longer making these. What are these selling for these days?

Thanks

No they will not go up in value. Just because Win went out is not nesesarily going to make your shotgun rare, or more desireable. Just look what it did for STAR, ASTRA, DAN WESSON, ETC, ETC...

Your shotgun used will be worth 225 to 250 in good condition. Always. In 25 years it may bring more based uppon a colector value. think another $100 to 125. If the SHTF then it will be worth as much as a rolex.

I recently paid $269 for a new Camp Defender. Nice gun. Mine has a 22" barrel and changeable chokes and a long mag tube.

I'm pretty sure FN Herstal, the maker of Winchester guns (under the name USRAC) with be selling the tooling to someone else who will then get permission from Olin to continue to use the Winchester name. I just got a 2006 Winchester catolog in the mail, so, um.....................................

I passed on the 1300 and bought another $129.00 R870 instead. It's got a alloy TG, and a 28" VR barrel with removeable choke tubes. Looks alot like a canoe paddle right now. I listed the barrel on Ebay tonight.
