I would like to add a sling to my remington 870 shotgun. I know that remington makes a magazine cap with a swivel stud. I wanted to know if there was anyway that I could get around with out drilling and tapping the rear mount. I would just rather not put a hold in my gun. Thanks

Specter Gear

You'll find what you're looking for there. Various companies make slings that simply loop over the buttstock.

+1 for Spectergear.  I have one of their slings that was designed for use on any of the M16 family (M16/M4/M16A4 with the rail so the forend is bigger), and since I have an M4gery, I had the buttstock adapter left over.  It fits perfectly on my Mossberg.  That with one of the cheap side sling mounts and I was able to put a sling on without any modifications.  Fast and easy.  Now I want to get a couple more of those for the Mossberg and My AK as both are using SpecOps slings right now.  Not as nice of sling in any way.
Look at the SOP or Special ops Patrol sling.  It will fit just about anything out there.
