Can I modify my M1 S90 to hold a shell on the carier with a full tube like the older HK?

If the bolt carrier is the same one used in the SBE, you probably can. Take the bolt carrier out, and with the bolt facing away from you flip it over. On the bottom of the carrier you will notice two notches on the right side(opposite side of the bolt handle). The smaller of the two notches is what prevents the additional round. It needs to be filled, or ground away to act like the old HK.  I will see if I can find a pic for you.

Hope this helps.

i beleave the process is loading the tube first   opening the chamber. placing one in the pipe and pushing down on the carrier  and putting a shell on the carrier to get your 7+1+1    or if the M1 field 5+1+1  if the M1field has a 5 round tube

I modified my M1S90 by cutting a 45 degree on the side of that slot in the bolt.  It is covered in depth on the Brian Enos forum.
