Anyone out there know if the M1 Practical screw-on muzzle brake will fit a M1 Tactical? If so, where can I find one other than the Italian factory?

Thanks,

Back in 1993, I got my m1 ported.  Proported that is... Have not really seen or tried a screw on model.

Good news, reduced recoil, reduced muzzle rise.  Bad news, need to shoot more powerful rounds to generate recoil to cycle it.  Since you are in CA, you are welcome to try it out and see if you feel a difference.

Nice port job. Can you estimate how much more powerful the shell has to be to cycle it? I'm not necessarily looking for less recoil, just less muzzle rise. Where in CA are you? I'm in LA.

I got some win. sporting clays load at walmart the other day, they are 1 1/4 oz at 1300fps-- no dram on the box...)  the 1200 fps (cheap stuff sold in 100 bricks) would probably not work.  anything 1 1/4 oz 3 1/4 dram should do it.  No light target stuff.  Buck and slugs are fine.  Tactical low recoil buck is a no go.

I am in the desert above san bernardio.  Where do you shoot?

So far just indoors (gun is relatively new) in Torrance. I live in Woodland Hills and am planning on shooting at the Angeles Shooting Range. Been 4 wheeling in the SB mountains a few times, beautiful country. Kind of reminds me of my old stomping grounds in the Sierra foothills east of Sacramento. Let me know how to get ahold of you and I'll swing by some weekend soon.

Thanks,

Comp-n-choke is the only IC version I found, $50, I think Hastings also makes one, there are others, check Cabelas or someplace like that.
