Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - What bbl length/mag ext.?

Thinking about building my 870 for fun at the range and the occasional IPSC match. I saw someone here selling 18" riot bbls. I think this would lots of fun to play with and easy to swing for IPSC. I was wondering what barrel lengths match up with what mag ext. cuz I think it looks better when the mag doesn't stick out.

18" barrels let you have a two shot extension (6 rounds in magazine)

20" barrels let you have a three round extension (7 rounds in magazine)
