We do them on occasion, but lately we've been swamped with AR work. That combined with being short staffed, some things have to give.

That said, they do take quite a bit of work to thread precisely as almost always the barrels are crooked in the receivers. They definitely aren't as straight forward as a rifle barrel.

Swamped is good
Maybe the price needs to adjust up

I’m surprised none of the Smiths take advantage of the Volquartsen clearance deals and do groups of these things. I assume the integral guys buy them but I don’t know. I’ll always wondered what we’d have if the receiver wasn’t the upper. For $25 a pop you could knock a batch of 10+ out for minimal cost and time.

Have you shot it yet? if so, how does it sound? Any first round pop? Do you have any form 4 cans to compare it to and if so, how does it compare?

Thanks

if you trim the grip could this be a pocket carry? they could design a pocket version of this gun with the chamber and receiver mechanism shortened or set even further back from the barrel?

could rugers in fact be the best closet self defense gun?

imagine effortless sub 1 inch groups at 10+ yards on a moving target? why even need 9mm or 45acp when you can drop him with an effortless doubletap at 20 yards?

That Ruger is fire but to answer your question, no. I'd rather have a .22 over nothing but even then I'd like more capacity, please.

Ruger could take all of my money if they ever figure out how to put 15+ rounds into the MKIV like the TX22 or KelTec P17 from a grip-frame and magazine swap. With the upper being serialized they could just sell grip frames and magazines.

In fact, if I worked at Ruger, I'd have designers and engineers working on this right now.

That would be nice and while they're at it, I would like a metal (aluminum would be fine) 22/45 frame. I'm a big fan of the MKIV 22/45 but with 15rd mags (metal) and a metal frame, it would be my all time favorite.

Volquartsen doesn't make a MKIV frame but Tandemkross makes an aluminum one.

Here's a quick video I did today to show how bad the runout is on some Ruger MK pistols.

Another to show that the bore is running true despite how wildly adjusted the chuck is.

I do use a special chuck mount that allows both radial and axial adjustment to get these things to run true.

It appears like glock MOS. Milled into the slide
Adaptor plate that says “do not remove”
Optics screws into plate

You can get the MaddMacs upper in a milled version.

To clarify like above, the optic mount is not integral to the upper but the upper is cut lower than a standard MKIV upper to take an optic plate. The end result is an upper with a RDS that sits lower than a standard MKIV.

You can also get the XBAR upper with a standard mounting setup.

Who is cutting and threading these now?  D.Wilson isn't taking customer supplied parts, Adco won't go shorter than 3".

Not sure which cans you're talking about but the two small .22 silencers I know of are the Bowers Bitty and the TacSol Aeris.

Outside of those two I only know of modular silencers like the Erector that can get really small.

Any of y'all running into failur to feed issues with a 2" barrel with suppressor?

im getting failure to feed on 1 out of 5 rounds.

not sure if it's a mag issue, a cycling issue, or ammo issue(all I have right now is 36gr mini mag).

might not be mags,  I have the same problem across 10 mags.
Ammo:  should I be using 40gr?  I can look for different stuff but it's hit or miss if it's on the shelf here.

@ZF-1  they are custom made grips by LS grips. They are lasered out of cherry, then they dyed and sealed them with black.

@crusherdestroyer Mark 2 or 3? If it’s a three have you removed the LCI? If it’s a 2 have you cleaned it really well? I ended up replacing my recoil spring to get it reliably feeding
