Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Can you use a Mk3 grip frame on a Mk2 22/45 upper?

So I had this idea of putting a newer Mk3 grip frame on my Mk2 22/45 upper, to be able to have removeable grips (and because it looks better). Anybody ever done this? Are any mods necessary to the grip frame or upper to account for the fact that the Mk2 style upper does not have the loaded chamber indicator/slot?

Thanks, good to know this isn't just a crazy idea. Might get put on the back burner though since everyplace I've seen that has them wants $250ish for the grip frames....
