Just purchased my first 1911.  Was in the store looking at the CZ 40th and saw this.  Decided I needed a 1911 so it's my first.

Gorgeous pistol. Love the blueing and I love the ball cuts I feel like they're so much sexier  than the standard cut.

Its an old Diamondback Tactical quad mag pouch sitting on a Tactical tailor Mini MAV.  2 Paraclete smoke grenade pouches are on either side.

Colt XSE LW Commander in 9mm
I was going to send to Wilson for custom work until I just discovered these were a very limited production run of about 300.  They are selling for twice what I paid.
I just changed out the stock wood grips for a Gold Cup rubber grip.  Still have the stock grips.

Nice classic!

To me nothing compares to the look of a classic colt.

Long solid trigger + trigger job and hammer
Replaced internals and springs
Tightened slide to frame fit

Jim Garthwaite did sights, ejection port, opened up magwell, flat checkered msg, checkered front strap, trigger and trigger job, shortened hammer, French border, flush crowned bbl, slide to frame fit. Blue.

Sending it back soon for Heine rear sight, Wilson beavertail and thumb safety, commander hammer and re-blue.

Right about 2 months if memory serves. I could have had it back sooner, but I had them take their time as I sent them the gun right before I moved to another state for a job.

It's taken me a long  time to get this done. 4 months for the barrel, and almost a year for the can.

At this point I'm not going to say. I went to the range today for the first time and couldn't put 2 shots together. Total FTE every round. Not happy!

I just got this little beauty back from APW Cogan. It's a 9mm and I had them tighten up the slide to frame, hard fit the barrel, flat-top slide, install Ed Brown single sided safety, Koenig hammer, trigger job etc. Absolute dream to shoot.
