Colt Cold Cup Trophy I picked up at a local gun shop. She is pretty scratched up. I think it was somebody's glove box gun.

This 1911 started as an old favorite, slowly modifying it and improving it over nearly 20 years.  It was already accurate as hell, an old school Canadian Para Match SSP.

A little trigger work here and there. Smoothing. Then a compensator to speedup follow up shops went through many versions till I found the most effective.  Next fitting a custom mainspring housing with magwell to speed reloads.  Several grips adorned it. I finally settled on an eye catching Burl and resin combo.

Thousands of rounds through her, smooth as butter.

This is one of the 1991 polished steel Series 80 pistols in polished blue and retro rollmarks. I traded for it to rotate my '69 C series out of the carry rotation. It is pretty much a clone of my '69 .45.

I swapped the long plastic trigger and main spring housing for the short aluminum trigger and Ed Brown checkered mainspring housing. I bobbed the hammer and trimmed the grip safety back a little. Harrison fixed sights with a tritium front are next and maybe a trigger job and match bushing while the sights are being put on.

The Silvertips came from a shop I used to work at. He just bought a collection and I bought the ammo. Lots of neat old ammo in the old school packaging.

My C Series Colt Government Model that was made in 1969.  One year before my birthday.

I swapped the factory thumb safety for a Colt Wiley Clapp safety and the blue bushing for a Colt stainless bushing.  The original grips were warped so I swapped them for the dark rosewood double diamonds.

Got my Colt 01991 back from Doug Jones yesterday.

He Accurailed it, trigger job at 4lbs, Wilson extended thumb safety, Harrison rear sight, night sight with white outlined front and a match SS bushing.  She is tight.  No slide to frame wiggle at all and the barrel hood does not move.  Hopefully I will shotlot it Monday.

Probably a very early Para kit with "Pat Pend" stamped in the frame. No matter, I've shot her much with no complaints.
Caspian slide and Wilson parts throughout. Colt Barrel.  I added the arched mainspring housing. I have small hands so it helps.

Ultimate Carry in 9mm. Very similar specs to the Pro, but with a strong side only thumb safety, 25 LPI checkering, and the barrel and hammer aren't Black-T coated.

Nice. I bet she is a dream to shoot. I have a Pro in .45. When I got it they only came in that caliber. I love it, but if I were have to bought one today, it probably would have been in 9mm.

The old and the new.  A 1976 custom Colt Gov't model with an early Milt Sparks Summer Special.  Just picked this one up last Friday. This is what the big boys had when the Army sent me to Gunsite with my modified GI 1911A1.  I always said I was going to have one of my own. I gave up on finding a period custom Colt and purchased a Colt Classic.  I had Harrison Custom do a little work to it.  It is seen with a Milt Sparks Summer Special II.

Regards
