fit and finish is all good except the trigger has a lot of play to it, however the trigger pull is very good imo, little take up, no creep, crisp break at around 4.5lb, short reset.

The pistol came straight from their custom shop, built to my specifications listed below.  If you're thinking of doing a threaded barrel, DW will install one for you.  I am thinking of sending my Specialist to them to have one fitted.  The cost is really reasonable, around $240 if I'm remembering correctly.

Chambered in .45ACP
Duty Finish, slide and frame
No markings on the slide
Threaded Barrel (from the Discretion)
Ball end Mill Cut on the slide
Clark-style serrated rib on top of slide
Red Fiber Optic front sight with serrated ledge rear sight
Silveback Frame (chosen for the following features: Undercut trigger guard, 25 LPI checkering front and back of grip, Counter Sunk Slide Stop)
Mag well
Flat trigger (I provided them a Wilson, Keith was very accommodating)
Single sided safety
G10 VZ Operator II grips

Didn't you mention DW saying threaded barrel had to be with ramp? Getting frame cut?

Yes.  That's an important detail to remember...

Though my Specialist is a 9mm, and it has a ramped barrel already.  For a 45, I think it would require frame modification if DW installed a factory barrel, but I would reach out to them and get a firm answer...

I can confirm that Keith at DW told me that the frame would have to be cut or the use of a non ramped barrel was required.  I'm currently hunting for a barrel,  I'm looking at the ED Brown match threaded barrel. Anyone have any opinions on it?

I'd leave it. If anything, maybe some new grips but keep the Bianchi's handy for nostalgia.

Sad part is I've managed to take it apart and reassemble it many times without an issue.

I'll try and buff it out. Not sure I'll get it out entirely though.

This is why I can't bring myself to buy new guns. Anything new I fret over every scratch and scuff, but when its used I can use it how its intended. Fuck it, now you can run the hell out of it.

I'm not really fretting over it. It's just that I'm well aware on how to avoid it and didn't because I got lazy.

Gray Scotchbrite rub in one direction lightly, not back and forth, that will create a circular effect. Use a little oil. Rub lightly in one direction until scratch is gone. When scratch is gone use a little non abrasive metal polish, rub in one direction, not back and forth. I used Noxon. Fixed the same scratch in my stainless RO that way. Good as new ! Your results may vary but worked for me.

Trying it out with a light, definitely need to pony up for an X300 now.

Far from the first, but it runs great. The slide/frame fit is absolutely unreal and certainly much better than the GI RIAs I used to have (and the various springers as well). It shoots very well and my only real issue with it is that the thumb safety and grip safety have some sharp edges I'd like to round down.

My plan was to buy it as a placeholder until tax season when I could justify a DW, but now I'm thinking of just sticking with this and dumping that money into a better road bike.

I can't stop shooting this damn thing. I've owned it 3 weeks, and I've had it at the range 4 times already. I'm almost out of .45 ammo and considering selling non-essential organs to buy reloading components.

No doubt about it...though I killed my reloading budget yesterday by pinching my son's fingers in the handle of the RL550.  An ER visit, a few x-rays, and 3 stitches later...I won't be doing much shooting for a little while.
