Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - 1939 Colt 1911A1 Question?

I have a 1939 Colt Navy 1911A1 with original blue serial no. 714xxx in 90 to 95 percent condition.  I would like to know if anyone has any info on this pistol. The barrel looks to be a military replacement maked REPL-1 on the bottomof the barrel if anyone knows if this a military replacement barrel please let me know. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Never heard of that mark on a USGI BBL. new [original] or as a replacement. It is a CERTAINTY that it is not the original BBL.

There were replacement BBLS issued in nam but I personally have never seen one marked like that myself. [chromed BTW]
