I picked up my first 1911 which is also my first .45 does anyone have any tips for grip placement or any other helpful hints for shooting this handgun?  Or anything else in general that might be helpful concerning the 1911...

Grip the gun high and put your thumb on top of the safety.

1. Load magazine
2. Insert magazine
3. Fire said 1911 untill empy
4. Repeat steps 1-4 untill out of ammo
5. Buy more ammo
6. Repeat steps 1-5
