She loves it! She is almost as excited as I am. I paid $789 for it locally, which I thought was a good price.

ETA: How in the hell do you get the damn guid rod and barrel out of the slide? I must be retarded or something, because I can't figure it out.

It should come with a little metal L shaped takedown tool. You insert the end into the hole in the guide rod to capture it. You should then be able to pull the whole thing out from the rear. Dont lose the takedown tool because it makes it a real pain to get apart!

If you lose the little L shaped wire tool, you can substitute a bent paperclip.

I got it out. I used a paperclip, since I was too damn lazy to go get the manual and the tool.

It is now all clean and ready to go. My wife is pretty excited about having her first carry pistol. The only problem is that she is pretty posessive about it...every time I pick it up to play with it, I get this look like "You do realize that is MY pistol, right."

You say it was for the wife, but you really bought it for yourself.

Its a great looking handgun

No Really Honey, It's for you, just let me break it in for you. I wouldn't want it to malfunction on you before it's really broken in! 2000 rds later, No Really Honey... Nice pistol, hope both of you like it.

We are going to the range this weekend with it. I should have a report Sunday evening.
