I just bought a pair of SA 1911's.  One is a parkerized Mil-spec 5", the other is a parkerized Champion.  These will go nicely with my Kimber Custom-II.  I plan to take them in quickly to my 'smith to have a beavertail GS and ambi, extended thumb safety installed on both.  Will also probably replace the US grips with some nice rubber grips.

Any other recommendations from you SA 1911 owners on things I should do to my new guns?

Better sights while the gunsmith has them.

Ditto, have your gunsmith mill the slides and dovetail cut to install Novak low-mount front and rear night sights.

Good idea.  I'll definitely do that.  The guns will be here at my FFL by weeks end (the worst part of gunbroker sales....the wait ), I'll post pics then.
