I took the advice I found here and went out and bought a Springfield 1911 from "Rudders" gun shop in Butner NC. It's brand new. I need to clean it up some now. I paid $459. after tax. I feel pretty good about it. Thanks for the advice everyone.

I'm leaning towards one of them myself, very nice BTW.
The more I read about Rock Island .45s, the more I lean Springfield. Danny
