What should I get for Christmas? Santa: I really want an Ed Brown Kobra.

The two tone SW1911DK is beautiful, but without rail. How do S&W and Kimber compare to Springfield and Colt? I have a TRP and Gold Cup already. 1911s are addictive!

Tagging, so I can hear the non-biased, objective rundown of all these models from everyone.

Seriously, get the one you like. They're all good guns.

Getting my SW1911PD tomorrow! I will have to shovel myself out and then traverse through the snow to my dealer to get it hopefully without going off the road, but I'm gonna get it!!!!!

Get the Kimber, but try to find one with an internal extractor. They have started making the TLE/RL II with the interal extractor, but it may be difficult to find. It is a great gun and shoots excellent, but the external extractor is hit and miss. Mine doesn't always work right (may need to go back to the factory). Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm going to get mine on the net. Local shops want too much!
I think I can get it under $900.
I will look for a TLE/RL II with internal extractor, if not, S&W is where I'll go. Thanks!

Kimber doensn't produce the TLE RL II with the internal extractor. Only the 'Warrior' has the internal extractor...D

If your use is for USPSA, keep in mind that the light rails will keep you in L-10 and prevent you from competing in the new single stack division.

That being said, with rails, you will NEED a sure fire to hang from it!

I have a TLE-II with the internal extractor and no light rail. I absolutly love it!!!! Never had any type of FTF, or FTE. It is accurate as hell. I do use shooting star mags. Ed

I have a Kimber Pro TLE/RL II with an internal extractor.

Neither.

Get either a Kimber 25th anniversary edition (series 1, internal extractor), or perhaps Hilton Yam's limited run of Kimbers (series 1, internal extractor).

Check the 10-8 forums and other information at www.signaturegrade.com for more info.

My brand new Kimber TLE II, although not a rail model, came with a internal extractor. Life is good.

Get the S&W......I have been burnt by kimber twice, there will not be a third....both were POS.

I like the looks of the S&W and the company is great overall. The front sight buggs me on the S&W, as it is not blended to the slide. I own a TLEII (External extractor) w/o one problem with the gun. Kimber is still the best value for your $$$ IMO. If this were a thred about Revolves then no question S&W.
