I would have otherwise not even thought about it this quickly. |

Got the call an hour ago- my pistol will ship either today or tomorrow.
Excited for sure! |

When you get called, please post your RGN. Once we get a few, people later in line can determine roughly how many numbers the CMP is going through per week, and get an idea as to when they'll be called.

Fresh off the Fedex truck.
Colt frame, Remington slide. 1990 replacement barrel. (I did not know there were contracts for 1911 parts that late.) I'm real happy with it. The markings are crisp. Attached File Attached File |

Service Grade.
I don't know on original finish- shouldn't heat treat around slide stop be visible if it hasn't been refinished? The finish on the Colt frame and Rem slide match each other well. I'd say it's been together like this for quite some time. |

I was with 1AD when we transitioned to the M9 in 1989. Many units took 1911A1s with them to Sandbox I, and it took a few years after that for the 1911A1 to disappear from the arms rooms. |

Would someone please post or IM the phone number that shows on caller ID from CMP?
I'm afraid I'll reject the call if I don't recognize the number. |

I never got an RNG email but got the call last week. Keep the faith, only two or three apps were lost in the first round and all were made good.

My national guard armor unit finally replaced our 45’s around 1997. I bet there were units that replaced them even later, and then you have the special ops units that held on to some even later. Also from what I have read the navy also retained them longer than the other services. |

I caved and sent an email yesterday since I have not received my RGN. Here was the response:
We are still sending out numbers, if you have not heard anything by June, send us another email. |

Just got off the phone with Allie, my RGN number was 20927 but never received a email stating so.
All three grades offered, requested a matching slide and frame manufacturer Field Grade. She said she'd see what she could do. |

My number was 20471. I requested a Field Grade with "character"and not refinished, any maker, matching prefered. I didn't want a refinished 80s rehabed gun with a new slide. She suggested I go with Field grade.
I received a Remington Rand with original finish 70%, original barrel, grips were replaced and a MecGar magazine. I was very happy! Tell them what you want, they will tell you the grade is all they can guarantee, but they pass your preferences to the people pulling the guns. |

Got the call yesterday and picked up the pistol today, April 28. All three grades were available and I went with a Service grade. I asked for an original finish or Colt. My RGN was 20,859. The frame is a 1943 Ithaca and the slide is a Remington Rand. Finish has service character that isn’t as easy to see in the photos. Haven’t had a chance to disassemble it yet. Where is the barrel marked? This is my first 1911 and will go well with the rest of my CMP collection.
