Quoted: Confirmed today by calls to both Dawson and Staccoto/STI CS and Tech support. It appears that this new follower was mistakenly sent out/not a new Gen, it's was supposed to be a T&E item. They are a rougher texture and rounded geometry grey polymer. The Staccoto rep I talked to asked immediately if I wanted an RMA to exchange it. I asked if it is an option to "upgrade" my current mags (17's and 20's) with the new follower. It's not......yet. I declined the RMA and I'm keeping it. He asked for a range report after I get a few hundred rounds with it. More to follow, I guess. They need to get their shit together on mags. FACTS. This is getting embarrassing. How hard is it to make mags that just work? Seems like everyone else has it figured out LOL! |

Picked up my P today. Like others have said the mags must b e having a supply issue as all 3 of my mags had the stainless finish instead of black. All 3 had the grey textured follower as well.
My mags from Dawson showed up too, 4 black 17s and 2 stainless 20s. All have the new style basepad but also the old basepad in the bag. All have a plain black follower. I bet Dawson had them in stock and just replaced the basepads when the new version came out. My gun didn't come with the different recoil springs I've seen in videos but did come with an extra green and red fiber optic rod. I think I will buy a metal trigger and see about dropping it about 1lb. I'm not sure what that would entail as I'm used to 1911s in the 2.5 to 3 range already. Strange that it comes with a 13lb mainspring. |

So is the are the “prototype” and “production” boxes for followers right next to each other? How does that even happen.

Taking a closer look, some more observations:
Besides the non-black mags I didn't get the 3 pack of recoil springs. The sights are great, typical Dawson quality. A few things to note though are how low the rear sits, very nice. Strange decision to set them forward a small bit though vs how this is usually done (like on the XL) and the bottom of the rear sight blade appears to be nearly touching the slide. I have a ton of CZs and Tanfoglios and have owned 1911s with bomars as a frame of reference. I didn't expect the slide release to be as tough to manipulate as it is due to the fact it is almost "hidden" due to the girth of the grips. Also the slide notch for it seems to be farther forward than tbec1911s I used to own but I could be remembering wrong. I saw one on youtube that looked like it had a different barrel crown, so that may be another in line e change. It took me a few minutes to realize how to put the gun back together with the tool less guide rod but I've got it now. Easy to take apart but a bit harder to put back together, balancing the rod being forward and the link down. I consider it idiot scratch proof though. Slide to frame fit is pretty good, not a lot of play. Not as tight as the DW Valor and Specialist I had but about on par with a Shadow 2. Barrel fit is tight and perfect. The slide action seems strange. I don't know if it is the locking lugs or the Dawson guide rod but it seems to be locked up pretty damn tight and then once you overcome it very easy to retract and smooth. Very nice. The trigger is pretty good but id like to get down to 3lbs and replace it with a metal one. Currently 4lb 2oz. Interesting that they use such a light hammer spring at 13lbs. No range time anywhere soon on the horizon unfortunately. |

My Staccato P purchased a month or so ago came with mags that had followers like the one on the left. I ordered some mags from Dawson and they all came with the 3D printed looking follower of the right magazine. I got ahold of Staccato customer service and they shipped me "new followers" and a new slidestop. They ended up looking like the ones on the left. I was confused as I wasn't sure which design was new and Shawn Armstrong from Staccato offered to call me. What he described as that the one on the right is in fact 3D printed when they were trying out a new design, but the design on the left is what they landed on. Especially when coupled with the new slidestop design, but I didn't have any issues with the slidestop that came with the gun either, nor did the 3D printed style followers give me any grief either. |

Does anyone with an older "gen 2 mag" have a picture of the body?
I'm wondering if one of the changes they made was to "pinch" the body up near the double/single transition. |
|
So the magazine roulette continues. Their statement that magazines may not be as advertised due to supply constraints was very accurate.
I picked up my C2 today. Instead of 3 x 16rd mags with the black teflon finish it came with one of those and two stainless finish 17s. All 3 had the "3D printed experimental/non-production" (per the earlier posts in this thread) follower. |

Can anyone speak on the accuracy of the 21 Fast Track option? Is it legit 21 days or more like we’ll try? I went ahead with it because I didn’t feel like waiting 3 months.

Going to order my XL and XC direct though with the 15% off but then I do have to pay tax so it is only 7% off. Everyone seems to charge MSRP so it comes down to who charges tax and shipping. In retrospect wish I ordered my mags direct with the discount vs going through Dawson. |

View Quote Fast track is close, but not exact. I placed an order on 11/02/2020 and was told I would have my pistol in hand "in 21 Days or less". 21 days went by and I called. The guy I spoke to advised that my pistol was completed and that they were waiting on mags. Another week went by and I spoke to whom I believe was the same person (had a direct line from emails when placing the order) and he advised that the order was basically ready to ship, but they were waiting on the DLC barrel. During both telephone conversations, I made sure that I would be notified when my order shipped so that I could have my FFL be on the lookout. On 12/08/2020 my FFL shot me a text and let me know my pistol had arrived. My Fast track experience was 36 days. Now that I have the pistol, I am about 550 rounds deep with it and have and issues or stoppages. This thing runs like a scalded mule. |

I just picked up my second Staccato P yesterday. It was ordered through the Heros Program and came with all stainless magazines. Also arrived over a month before their lead time, so cheers for "Under promise and over deliver"
All the followers were consistent with my Dawson mags and I didn't suffer any of the 3D printed looking ones above. I thought that Hero's Program guns doubled the standard magazine allotment of (1) 17 round mag and (2) 20 round mags. Instead I received (4) 17 round mags and (2) 20 round mags. Not a huge deal as I bought a bunch of 20 round mags for my first Staccato, but odd. Guess it confirms the are suffering mag shortages. Still, I would rather get it early with 17's then delayed with 20's. |

Extra mags ordering direct? Cool, can't wait to see what my XC comes with.
Wish I bought my P and C2 that way but at least I didn't have to wait. CS seems very responsive so far. I also want to inquire about the accuracy of this list: https://staccato2011.com/ufaqs/what-is-the-recoil-system-or-weight-of-the-recoil-spring/ The P hammer weight can't be right. Edit: heard directly from Hilton Yam these weights are wrong. 10lb mainspring on P and XC and 8lb recoil spring on XC. |

I have 6 new followers on the way to me.
They didn't answer my questions but were fast to respond and ship. I guess the 3D printed followers must not be trusted if they are so fast to replace them. |

So I'm a little confused, the difference in followers? Besides shape, is there a difference in reliability? Are the 3d better or the other?

Bought a C2 DUO that came with three black teflon 16 rounders in October. Just ordered 4 new stainless 16 round mags last week because they said the teflon black won't be back anytime soon. Will report back with what I actually receive. I love the gun, but all of these changes don't instill confidence.

I just got an email that the Staccato P has some slight changes for 2021. It is going to come with a magwell again like the 2019 model and they made the slide .5mm in an effort to achieve a more flush look for the barrel and guide rod.
Strange, I don't think half a mm would do that as the barrel seems to protrude a little more than .5mm. It also looks like "DUO" is now "DPO" but I don't know if that is just a name change or if something is different. |

I saw that this morning as well. I got the 2020 because I didn’t want the oversized magwell. Now if the 2021 went back to tree bark stippled from the factory I’d be a little butt hurt

I bought a few of Theseand had no issues. They come with the newest follower and a better spring. Subscribe to their emails, as they keep putting them on sale for $90

Got mine set up today! Took it to my gunsmith to switch out the front sight and talked myself into an Atlas Trigger and trigger job while there. He had go outside and shoot it to make sure I was happy before I left. Holy hell, I may never buy another Glock. |

I have the CHPWS RMR plate coming Saturday with a matching 10-8 front sight so I didn’t bother setting it up with an optic yet. Overall very happy with this. I added the magwell, honestly it just looks like what I’ve always envisioned a 2011 as. |

My 16 round Stainless mags came. They have the same follower and geometry that my October 2020 C2 DUO black teflon mags have.

Still really glad I bought the CHPWS setup with a new front plate. The DPO setup looks solid, but the irons it ships with are too high, and even the thinner plate keeps the optic propped up. |
