I bought this 35 years ago.  I had a gunsmith install adjustable sights and tweak it a bit.  He tested it out, I never shot it.  After sitting in the safe for over 30 years I’m thinking of selling it and getting a Glock 43 or 26.  Be advised it does have a 666 in the serial number. Whats it worth?

I sincerely recommend you keep it.

I'd be all over that.  Is the slide milled at all for the rear sight?  Very nice pistol.  Not sure of a fair price.  IM me if you'd like.

I’d also say “keep it, you’ll regret selling it” but since it’s been in your safe 30 years, selling it might be the best option.  A Glock 43 is a nice little pistol to carry and shoot.  I’d aim for $800, $750 minimum.  Sell it and buy what you want.

Unfortunately, none of the things you had done to it add a value to it when it comes to selling. I see the value as being the same as for any other used series 70 from that time period, probably about $700.

Similar Colts are going for $600 to $700 on GunBroker these days. Not a great time to be in the gun selling business. Prices are down in general.

I would yank the nasty Pachmars off and put the original grips back on if you have them. They absolutely kill the looks of it.

Selling that beauty to get a Glock is a travesty...

I would not pay more than $500 for it since the sights would have to be replaced. Obviously there are people here who have a different opinion than mine.

Oh and, cut the front strap off the Pachy's and they would be fine in my book.

Biggest potential issue is if the front sight is one of Millets double tennon abominations.

You want to sell that to buy a glock....you know with 100% certainty you will regret that move.

It is an awful time to sell used guns. The new and used markets are way down. Colts just like yours go for $600 to $700 all day on Gunbroker. Sometimes they dip just below $600. I have seen some very nice ones slip by for $565.

Yes, that smith either has excellent penmanship in general, or took some old school drafting classes.
