Has anyone built a 19111 with a sarco frame?

I've read some threads about them in the past. They don't have a good rep. Holes out of spec, etc.

*I* would pass.

Keep in mind building a 1911 or s a whole different animal than building an ar- expect every part to need fitting from r optimal results. It is not at all unusual to have more in a build than a factory built gun

And after you realize how far over your head you are you can't sell it either.

The way I see it, if I'm going to put in the work, I'm not going to handicap myself with a mediocre frame to save a few bucks.

What frame? All I see are Rock Island, Para and then a bunch of "castings" or 80%ers. Does Sarco actually sell a frame with their name on it?

I have never used a Sarco frame but have used some Essex frames. They are investment cast (ala Ruger) and they are very, very good.
I never had any kind of issue with the few I used.

I built a 1911 on a RemSport frame.  It was forged, and not overly expensive.  Used the Sarco slide.  No complaints.

Not sure what a 19111 is but I built a basic 1911 A1 style with a RIA frame from sarco. No big difference.

No, but it would have to be better than an Essex.

I've got a half dozen "decorator" frames they sold about 10 years ago.  Just getting around to building them now.

So you end up building more to offset the initial cost. :)
