I try the modern compact and sub-compact modern guns, but I always come back to the 1911.

LW Officers Model I bought new and decided to send to SAC a couple of years ago,
the work done includes a steel insert, the gun runs flawlessly...

I had a custom ROC CCO. nice gun, shot it well, but just didn't carry as easily as a shield and had the same capacity.

Dan Wesson ECO. Just bought it NIB four weeks ago. I went straight back to DW for some warranty work (thumb safety failed function check out of the box). I had them install the ambi while they had it. Wasn't thrilled with having to send a brand new gun back, but the entire process only took three weeks and I ended up with the ambi safety for considerably less than it would have cost under other circumstances. Just got it back Thursday, taking it out tomorrow.

My favorite carry piece is this Series 70 Colt CCO Gunsite pistol. In my biased opinion it is probably the finest carry pistol Colt has made.
