Nice. Not what one normally thinks of as USGI, but it actually is.

Cool guns guys.

I'd love to see a display with every manufacturer, including MEUSOCs and M45s

I had a RR at my last duty station, I don't think there was 5% of the finish remaining but it still shot fine. They were going to the M9 when I got out, I would have loved to have been able to buy that old pig.

Yup. My one deployment computer got corrupted and I lost everything. My son knocked the other one off the table and broke the charging port.

With something ultra rare like a singer ( only 500 made) that would be a hard display to assemble for sure!
While I had at one time or another a number of 1911 GI guns plus a couple of usgi national matches, never have lucked into a good buy on a 1911A1. Maybe some day! I did briefly use one during my military service though my assigned weapon ( when there were still 45's in the armory) was an M16A1.
By the time my MTOE assigned weapon was a pistol we had beretta. I earned my distinguished badge on the beretta as a member of a military shooting team and ( blasphemy!) never could shoot a 1911 as well as the beretta

Not what the OP had in mind when he asked for USGI 45's but this one served with the USMC 2nd Raider Battalion, HQ CO, MARSOC the last 1911 to be issued to our soldiers.

Closest I can come right now.

There are 2 1918 Colts, a 1924 Springfield, 2 Ithacas, 2 Remington Rands, a Kongsberg Colt, 2 WW2 Colts, an arsenal rebuild with a US&S switch slide. I forget what else is in there but know I'm missing a US&S, a Remington UMC, a Savage and of course a Singer.

I do have a national match and an M45 not in the photo too. The boxes are DCM shipping boxes.

I'll try and get some better close up photos but Photobucket is screwing me over right now.

This is the collection that I want.  I have a nice collection of 1911s but none are like this.  Very nice.

Thanks and I have not been collecting them that long either but my local shop where I'm a good customer know I'm always a buyer for GI guns. I got a lucky trade on the DCM Rand post Sandy Hook, the Kongsberg came from GunBroker and have been very fortunate with the rest and was prepared and able to buy them when I have found them.

Now I just need to find the others so I can move on to a new obcession!

I am an admitted Colt 1911 fanboy as well and have lucked out on some pretty nice and unusual non GIs too.

Nowhere near the collection that Banshee35 has, but right now this is the best I can do:

1914 Springfield Armory:

1917 Colt, shipped 18 April, 1917 to the Commanding Officer, Philippine Ordnance Depot, Manila PI

WWII 1911-A1's. Top to Bottom: 1942 Colt, 1944 Remington Rand, 1943 Ithaca

I like the paint on the camera.  Never seen that before.  That's a film camera too, eh?  And of course you know I love your 1911.  Strangely enough I actually like the newer one better.  Never thought I'd hear myself say that.

Been issued the M1911A1 since 84' on and off.  Turned in our 1911s for M9s at 5th SFGA in 87' but when went to 1/10th SFGA at Tolz in 88' still had 1911s.  Went back to 5th and only carried another 1911 when we went to Haiti in 95' (along with my M9).  In Oct 03', I carried over 250ea M1911A1s out of depot to Iraq for 5th SFGA again.  Last one I carried in Iraq was a Colt M1911 frame dated from 1916, slide was a WWII Ithaca in 08'.

Last time issued was in Dec 14' in Astan.  Guns still belonged to USASOC, turned in my G19 for a 44' Remington Rand.

Waiting for DoD to release the stocks in storage to CMP now.  Only thing that's older still in service and being made is the M1907 leather sling (got some in Iraq last year, made in 2014).
