Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Seecamp Conversion Colt 1911 pistol- disassembly same as standard 1911?

I have a Seecamp Conversion Colt Cbt Cdr 1911.

Before I attempt to mess w/ it and perhaps ruin something-

Anyone know if basic disassembly for cleaning is same a standard 1911?

Pistol was done by Seecamp.

Not going to attempt to disassemble the mechanism, just want to separate to main groups- frame, slide, barrel etc and clean.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

It should be the same.  If you have a two piece guide rod, you will probably have to unscrew the front half to get the barrel bushing off.

UPDATE- Dave Wally, Seecamp new owner called me. Explained that he received no info on this conversion from old owners. He even called them to ask.
