I received mine today. I'm very, very happy. My ideal pistol I wanted would have wear but not exceedingly so and a rack number - and that's exactly what I received. Quite pleased. I only regret (greatly) not buying 1 or 2 more. I am well satisfied. I wouldn't want anymore wear and really wouldn't want it any cleaner. I hope to put some rounds through it shortly.

I'm getting kinda impatient as it's been 12 days without shipping info yet!
Maybe I should just cancel Totally kidding, just going to have to wait it out |
|
|
Patience is a learned virtue for me, I'm waiting 8 months plus for my ATF stamps so I guess I can wait this out
Just kind of frustrating but I guess I can't complain. They underestimated how popular they would be and probably also probably why the price was in a range I felt comfortable with. |

Yeah really destroys the collectible value of it especially to guys who are former Marines and wanted one. View Quote From what I understand this is the key to value on military firearms. Limited number, proof of provenance and a honest to god 45acp 1911? Seems to me the value in the future will be solid |

MMM K so where do we get USMC MARSOC holsters for these things or something similar? Until I find one of those, I have this. Officially the State Motto of Texas is "Friendship"...that's nice but this is my unofficial state motto. It was good enough for the Spartans at the Battle of Thermopolae and it was used by my Texan forefathers at the Battle of Gonzales in 1835 when the first shots of the Texas Revolution were fired. It just so happens that it matches the finish on the M45A1 so all the better. This holster is from a local custom holster manufacturer, Bullseye Holsters. https://s3.postimg.org/m4dnysxv7/m45a18.jpg Earl View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Both have a specific holster for the M45A1.
Also, El Paso Saddlery makes a version of the High Slide for it, but you have to specify in the order notes that the pistol is the M45A1. According to MSW, London Bridge Trading carries the M45A1 holsters. SF dealers can order it.
This is the drop thigh rig, with only one strap and a compact shroud. No light# 6004SS-56-761-SP10-MS30-NH Mounted X300 weaponlight holster # 6004SS-530-761-MS30-NH No idea if it fits the X300U. Tacticalholsters dot com has the G-Code SOC holster also starting @ 98$. It is listing the M45A1 as an option. |

These are going for $3k on gunbroker. I want one, but not THAT bad. Would gladly pay $1,350. You guys got a nice deal. Hopefully there's more out there at that price. I will keep looking.

These look new actually but the USMC is X'd out.
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/635137183 ETA: They raised them to $1995.XX also. I'm out. |
|
And I was just about to sign up for a Gold membership so I could get one. At least I didn't waste my $50. Maybe they should have had a limit of 1 per person ? ugh
|
|
Being that they were NIB, made them less appealing. I would rather have one that actually saw use. Really no difference in them and any other Colt M45A1 other than they were owned by the USMC.

I think Gunbroker Gold Deals sold about sixty more of the M45A1s today, last listing price was $2,195. I'm very pleased that I have one on the way for a good bit less than that.
Given the rarity of these pistols, the factory letter, and USMC heritage, I suspect they will rise in value pretty rapidly in the coming years. Glad I bought one. |
|
Across three different prices tonight I counted a total 302 sold.

While I agree about preferring the used ones, a hardcore 1911 collector would give a left nut for a unissued NIB M45A1. Which is why the NIB versions went like that (snaps fingers).
I have tried to be patient but I sent them a email today asking where mine is in the queue. Getting a bit antsy. |

Two weeks and no shipping info yet.
Perhaps they should concentrate on getting bought and paid for ones out before listing more? I sent them an email requesting shipping info as well as the idea of perhaps limiting them to one purchase per person per auction to allow more people to get them rather than them all being snapped up by retailers and resellers. |

Very cool. These may very well be the last USGI pistols EVER sold to civilians.
I would have jumped on one of these. |

True but 47 people buying the dumb ass GunBroker gold versus 1 is an extra $2300 too.
Just saying. I'm a patient person though when it comes to money. If they didn't need the capital right now I would have thrown them up on auctions one at a time and let them bring what the market would bear. Like I said, I'm glad to have gotten the one I did, or think I have coming anyway, at the price I did. |
