Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

Picked up the little thing on top below at a gun show about 2 weeks ago for $180 out the door.
It is .25 ACP and called a Chantecler Depose, which is French of some sort. It was apparently made pre WWII. The first word is a city in France and also a breed of chicken so I call it the chicken gun. I got out and shot it last weekend and it functioned flawlessly for everyone who tried it, although my sister struggled with the single-action trigger which is very heavy. It's a true gut gun and has no actual sights, just a slot milled down the top of the slide. Shown in a size comparison with one of my LCPs, it is now the smallest gun I own. Attached File |

Stopped by my local Fun Shop today, to kill time waiting for my buddy to come help me, pick up a new recliner. Well that was downfall. While killing time, saw this little beauty and couldn't say no. I seriously have a problem, but I really don't want a cure for it.

You know in situations like this, violence is not the only option, but it sure is a good one.

Yes, but my biggest issue was having to cover the whole target with the front sight. I'm not sure if it's FNs standard poa or just because of the suppressor height sights.
I liked the handgun but I would have needed to put an optic to enjoy shooting it and I didnt want to go that way. |

The Value Line Series version of the classic single stack DA/SA 9mm duty size pistol. It was the last variant that started the entire S&W DA/SA line and traces its lineage back to the S&W Model 39. The main difference between a traditional 3rd Gen Auto and the Value line is the following. Both the 3906/3904 and the 909 are 9+1 Capacity. But the Value Line has less machining on the slide, the guide rod and mag catch are plastic as are the sights. Also the frame is Aluminum instead of Steel. I've wanted a full size single stack S&W for a while but either the guns were horribly beat to shit and cost $400 or they were in nice condition and cost close to $1000. This one cost me $350 and comes in LNIB condition with the case, papers, etc... can't wait to have it shipped to me. It will be a nice range gun. View Quote I've always liked these early semi auto Smith's. They are built strong and they look great from the model 39/59 all the way to the end. If I ever come across another 59 like mine I may have to sell a kidney to try and make it mine. |
