What are the smallest semi - 9mm models available?  Wouldnt hurt if to have some comments regarding reliablity issues as well.

Kahr Arms PM9. Kahrs are as reliable as any other box stock pistol from a decent manufacturer.

Not sure which is smaller, but the Kel-Tec P11 would have to be in the same size category as the Kahr.

I have a Kahr P40 and it's gobbled 400 rounds without a hitch so far. Surprisingly accurate for such a small pistol and the trigger is outstanding. If you can't pack a 1911 this is a good 2nd best

Glock 26 seems to be one of the best baby 9mm's out there, IMO. Kahr is a good gun, Kel-tech is decent too.

Taurus also makes a small 9mm, IIRC.

If you want small, I suggest a .38 airweight snubbie.

can't do any better than the XD Subcompact

I have a PM9.  It has been great so far.  It is certainly more compact than a Glock 26, and much thinner than a KelTec P11.  Watch-Six

The XD Sub may be a fine pistol... but it sure does NOT meet the intent of the original question... "smallest 9mms available".

The Kahr is the smallest lightest 9mm on the market.  It is the best quality wise.  I deffinately reccomend the PM9 over any of the others.

I have a Kahr PM-9 and it's great. No problems so far. Only put about 500 rounds thru it so far. The only smaller one I've heard of is the Rohrbaugh.Check it out.

I was going to start a Kahr Pm9 thread tonight.  I don't think I need to now!  I have a colt .380 pony, and I think the Pm9 pretty much makes that obsolete.  Same size and twice the power and it sounds like more reliable than my colt also.

I'm buying  PM9 to carry. I'm too damned skinny to carry much of anything else.

I started a thread on em a month ago. Do a search in the Handgun forum and I'm sure my thread will pop up. I got some good input there.

Sometimes you can save hours by coming to this site!  Of course, other times you just burn the midnight oil.  I am getting a Pm9 now.

I picked up my PM9 on Monday.  Tuesday ran 300 rounds through it for the recommended break-in.  Jammed once on the first mag and once around 200 rounds...  That's it, 2 jams in 300 rounds and that was to be expected during the break-in.  Damn tiny, got rid on my MK9 for it.  No regrets.

Was looking at the Kahr PM9's too. What do they normally cost??
Also have heard that the rohrbaugh firearms will run about $800-900 because they are custom guns.

The Taurus PT-111 Millennium is also a small 9mm that met an important criteria (10 rd mag). Many of the smaller 9mms sacrifice capacity.

I looked at those until my buddy at the gunshop said he had had 3 already brought in with cracked frames. NO thanks.

I don't think that they were PT-111's. There have been NO reports of cracked frames on this 9mm model to the best of my knowledge. The problems occurred in larger calibers and it seems that they may have used the same frame design that was adequate for 9mm but NOT adequate for larger calibers.
