Would it be in line to shoot 9mm +P in this gun?

Yep, no problem at all.  The P-series are built like tanks.  +P+ isn't really a problem, but I wouldn't shoot much of that simply because it puts more stress on any gun.

My carry ammo when I am carrying my P89 is 124 grain JHP +P.

I have fired about 100 rounds of +P+ in mine.  no problem. but I agree, don't shoot a lot of it.

Rugers are built like tanks, but even tanks loose a tred if they are abused.
