I want another .45ACP and I think I finally found the one I want on their web site but was wondering how close their MSRP will be to the actual price?

Model: Stainless Steel  P19132L

The price on their web site is $822.00 which I guess is fair but I'd rather pay less.

Here's a picture:

Here's a link to the handgun page:

I'd like this pistol and would eventually have the frontstrap checkered & add a magwell.

What do you think?

That should run you around $700.

I'd pretty much agree with the above. I was going to say expect a shave off of $150 - $200 from Springfield's site listed prices.

The stainless loaded SA's run around $600 to $700, depending.  Mostly I see them going for about $660 or so.

Most MSRP will be about 10-20% above retail, IMO.

Rob -

Check out Tanner's. They usually have a good selection of SA pistols in stock. I got my Black Stainless there for $150 under MSRP.

Tanner's is always my first stop for any new firearm. I only wish I lived closer I'd stop there everyday to see what new used guns they have.

I was on the phone with them already but I need to go there to be sure they get the right one. Their distributor doesn't use manufacturer model numbers.

Right now I'm looking at about $700 if they have looked up the right pistol.

Can't get up there in this rain though it will have to wait until saturday.

I considered the model that you are looking at when I bought the Black Stainless. SInce the price difference was just under $100 and for that difference you got a mag well (which I would normally add anyway) night sights, and the custom grips, I felt that the Black Stainless model was a better deal for me.

Tanner's has one in the case right now for $799 (at lest they did on Monday).

The black stainless is nice looking, I got a chance to check one out a few weeks ago. Tanner's even had one used for a few dollars less & it was in great condition. It was hard not taking that one home with me but I wasn't yet sold on getting another 1911. At that time I was considering getting a S&W 625 45ACP.

Somehow, I knew if I mentioned the 625 you would have one.
Honestly, which do you prefer if you could have only one? The revolver or the pistol?

I'm a hardcore 1911 guy, but if the question is "I can only add one to my collection right now" and I know you have another 1911 I would buy a 625. They are incredibly accurate and a lot of fun to shoot. Personally, of course, I also really like big S&W wheelguns.

That's a 5" in the pciture; Tanner's had a NIB 4" for $569 in the case on Monday; I almost bought it.
