Hey everyone, I need help with this.

I saw a custom 1911 in uhm american handgunner magazine.  It had ivory grips, polished slide with what appeared to be a bead blasted frame, oh and a compensator, but I'm not interested in that so much.

I want one just like it.  Fake ivory?  Good or bad?  I used to want a tactical looking hunk of black death, but I guess this just found a place in my heart.  Who makes one similar, or what can I start with to modify one in to something like this?  This'll be my first handgun.  Thanks for your help!

If it was a compensated gun in American handgunner it may be a STI.

For what you want you could probably get just about any 1911 and just add some fake perl grips. Not too many people make a shiny chrome, nickle, or polished stainless slide. Mostly they are brushed, matte, otherwise made less reflective. It's still silver, just not bling bling silver. You could always have it polished or chromed though.

Yes I realize my question is pretty vague now.

After looking around some I came to the same conclusion.  Thanks.
