to leave a gun in the car during the summer months?

I've heard stories about ammo exploding due to the heat that builds up inside a closed vehicle and worry about leaving my gun in the car when I can't carry.

Don't worry you will not get a "cookoff" from the amount of heat in a car.

But you'll burn the SH*% out of yourself when you go to pick the sucker up!  (I got a blister on my finger yesterday just buckling my seatbelt!)

I've been told it's not a bad idea to change your ammo out after a summer of such torture.
