any good reads come to mind? i've been through some basic classes and have the bibliographys from the nra pubs, but am really unsure about who the reputable authors and texts are in the field.

Col. Copper’s “Principals of Personal Defense” and “To Ride Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth” are the first to come to mind and Tom Givens “Fighting Smarter” may be one of the best books about fighting I’ve ever read.... those are a good place to start.
