I will have to disagree with the crowd......
Glad you didn't get a Glock!

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Ok, I'll bite.  Why do 2 out of 3 of you think Glocks are better than Sigs?  Be specific, please.  [:\]

Actually I think the Sig is a nice pistol but the Glock is better in my opinion for certain criteria. Ease of use, more economical, and most important, it is the MOST RELIABLE choice of pistol out there.

Congrats!  The P228 is one of my favoarites.  Oh, and I'll have to side with the "Sig is better than Glock" crowd  I've owned both, Kept the Sigs, ditched the Glocks

\/\/ ( ) \/\/ ! Someone loves you! I wouldnt refuse either a Glock or a Sig, Sigs being more classy, its only fitting. Happy B D! Wonder whats in store for next year? Be prepared and get a gun safe, a BIG one!

It's called snobbery.  It's all about the name.  I have a friend and his girlfriend both got rid of their revered Glocks and got 228's after firing mine.

AR15 gal, here are a couple of links you'll enjoy

CL, thanks!  I will be devouring the information you provided with those links.  VERY interesting.  I just checked out the first link and found that my particular SIG was, indeed, made in Germany (as opposed to the New Hampshire plant), and that it was proofed at Kiel in 1997.  Thanks so much for the links!
