Lately I've been thinking more and more about buying one or more handcannons.  For no practical purpose whatsoever, just because they are cool, and I can afford them.  This is what's on my tentative wish list right now.

.475 Wildey Magnum (this one I will DEFINITELY get, sooner or later)
.50 AE Desert Eagle
.500 S&W (I can't decide between the short or long barrel right now)

Anything else I should add to the list.  I'm talking monsters here, guys.

Get one of those single shot  break-open pistols that is chambered for a rifle round.

For instance the Thor pistol from EAA or one of the T/C Contender pistols.

EAA Thor

You can get this in 500 S&W, 30-06, 45/70, 308win, 375win, or 300 WIN MAG .

I have a .460 XVR, .500 S&W, .475 Linebaugh, and two .454 Casull handguns myself, and I love them all.

I like the S&W .460 the most though - its backward compatibility with .454 casull, and .45 Colt, along with the fact that it is a screamer of a round (and extremely accurate also), makes it a winner for me.

Yes, I am a big fan of the monster bore handguns

I bought and would buy again the Freedom Arms Revolver chambered for the 454 Casull simply because of it's quality and reputation. If I were to do it again I would choose the 475 Linebaugh.

Was playing with one of these today, wow it is a serious pistol.
I liked it, considering getting one.

Moe Ron, What was the guy in the vid shooting? Did it detonate, or was that all recoil?

It is reportedly some guy shooting a .600 Nitro.   That is R E C O I L, but in a .600 Nitro I guess it could also be called detonation.

Cheers

Wouldn't a Glock in 10mm be a lot more practical?

There's also that 1911 that shoots the .50 GI round. It's made by Guncrafter Industries. The gun is super expensive though.

Detonation would be more appropriate. At what point, do you get past useable? I like novelties, but novelties that are shootable, .600 nitro, and 50bmg, don't seem useable, at least not twice.
